Netball is a ball game played by two teams of seven players with games played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end of the court. Each game is 60 minutes long. Each team attempts to score goals by passing the ball down the court and shooting it through its goal ring on a 3.05 meter high post. Players are assigned specific positions on the court, which define their roles within the team and restrict their movement to certain areas of the court. During general play, any player with the ball can hold onto it for only a maximum of three seconds before shooting for a goal or passing to another player. The winning team is the one that scores the most goals. Variations have been developed to increase the game's pace and appeal to a wider audience. It is the most popular sport among the commonwealth nations and Singapore has its very own professional league, The Cheers Netball Super League.

Fun fact - There are currently over 20 million people in more than 70 countries who play netball

Fun fact - Netball is actually a winter sport and not a summer sport in many countries. It is much too hot to play in the summer.

One point is given for every goal. Only two netball players in the team can shoot, the Goal Attack (GA) and Goal Shoot (GS). They have to shoot from inside the semi-circle otherwise the goal is not counted. If the GA or GS gets the ball in the net, their teams scores a point and the ball is then given back to centre court and the game begins again.
